Old Room – work in progress
I started this personal project in Unreal Engine 4 to test my lighting skills in a very dark environment. No post effect is present here, only lightmaps baking with a soft ambient occlusion. The main difficulty behaves between this very bright area combined with a decent indirect illumination. As I think I achieved a correct lighting and a good balance between contrast and bright and dark areas, I can now concentrate on adding more stuff and avoid repetitions on the walls.
I think the worst part in this scene is the entrance, that is intended only as a stub, so I can’t wait to rework the door and the details in here.
Just in case you are wondering about that, those tiny little points floating are some animated dust, rendered in front of the camera.
